ARMONK, NY — 10 Oct 2006 — The virtual block party is part of a larger IBM program called the Greater IBM, designed to maintain connections with IBM’s network of alumni around the world. Mathew Georghiou, CEO of MediaSpark and an IBM alumnus, will share his thoughts on how simulations and virtual worlds can transform e-learning. Georghiou’s software company today develops educational games and simulation environments.
Hundreds of IBMers — across its services, global business consulting and IBM research labs — have been working together in Second Life for more than a year. There focus is on applying synthetic world and game-like universe techniques to real business and social applications.
